Winter Trail Report

March 8: After the cold weather this past weekend we are heading into a warm up. Spring conditions should be expected this week. Icy in the mornings and soft and melty in the afternoons. In sunny areas in the meadows, there will begin to be bare spots. It has been a great winter, with weeks of excellent conditions, so enjoy the end of the season!

2/12/21: After the last snowfall we gained a few more inches of snow on the trails so Erin took the opportunity to head out and roll the trails. We get some questions about how we groom and you can see here that Erin is on her second pass with the roller. In wider sections of the trail, this allows us to groom wider which makes the skate skiers happy!

We are looking at some potential snow over the weekend and even maybe next week. It is so nice to have some great snow this winter after several years of poor conditions.

No equipment, no problem! A reminder that we will be renting cross country skis and snowshoes at Camp Saratoga this Saturday and Sunday from 11:00am-3:00pm with our last rentals at 2:00pm. We will also be renting Monday through Friday this week for the school winter vacation. This is on a first-come, first-served basis, no reservations are needed for rentals.

We request that trail users respect the groomed trails and leave their use for snowshoe and cross country skier use only.  We request that other trail users utilize the non-groomed trails that are available at Camp Saratoga South, Neilmann, and Edie Road during the winter months when we are able to groom.
