A program designed especially for preschool-aged children to enjoy a morning in nature! We start with a brief walk, gather around for story time, and finish the morning with a nature-themed craft!

Discover the aquatic wildlife found at Delegan Pond! Using dipnets, you will get to search for a variety of aquatic animals while learning about their life cycles and adaptations. This is a drop-in program. This program is made possible by the support of Brookfield Renewable NA.

Come enjoy nature with others looking to get outside. This walk is geared towards those with basic fitness levels and is for ages 16 and above.

Fairy Homes From Nature
Children in grades 1-6, accompanied by an adult, are invited to construct a natural fairy house in one of the 3 Education Gardens at Wilton Wildlife Preserve. We will begin by listening to a story about building a fairy home and then view some picture samples.
The Gardens are located in the grassy area just beyond Parking Lot #1. Fairy houses will remain in the gardens for visitors to discover and enjoy. Please dress for the weather and bring water.
Register each child attending online, in the Children's Room, or by calling 518-584-7860, extension 305.
What to Expect:
Dress for the weather as the program will be outdoors.
Bring water. There are no water fountains
Use bug spray. Check for ticks when you get home
We will use natural materials. There will be some provided and some you can find
We will leave the houses outdoors for the fairies and visitors to enjoy.
Over time, fairies, wind and rain may rearrange the elements
Botanical Illustration Workshop
Combine art and science to create your own botanical illustration with some of the seasonal flowers of the Saratoga Sand Plains.
Graphite Range Forest Hike
Learn about the community forest, which is one of Saratoga County’s newest properties, while exploring its interesting flora, fauna, and history!

Karner Blue Butterfly Walk
The endangered Karner blue butterfly has two broods every year. The first brood emerges in late May and the second brood in early July. On a guided walk through the meadows, learn about the Saratoga Sand Plains ecosystem on which this animal thrives, and how it became endangered.
